Yes, we require your GP to complete our referral form prior to booking your initial assessment with us.

Centre for Integrative Health provides on-the-spot Medicare rebates via our Tyro EFTPOS machine for all clients who have a valid Mental Health Care Plan, Eating Disorder Management Plan, Chronic Disease Management Plan or Psychiatry Referral on file with us.

In order to determine your eligibility, please speak to your GP or one of our intake officers during your initial intake call.

Both our Brisbane and Sunshine Coast clinics are opened from 8.30am til 5pm Monday to Thursday (with appointments available from 9.30am) and Fridays from 8.30am til 3pm.

In order to manage our waiting lists and to ensure others seeking treatments are able to access our services in a timely manner, we do have a strict cancellation and rebooking process.

If you are looking to cancel/reschedule your appointment, we require 3 or more business days’ notice to do so without a penalty.

If you’re looking to cancel an appointment with 2 business days’ notice, you will be charged a $100 administration fee. If you’re looking to cancel an appointment that is less than 1 business days’ notice, you will be charged the full fee.

In order to ensure that clients achieve the best possible outcomes, we ask that clients attend all sessions in person except in the case exceptional circumstances preventing you from attending in person.

Please note, we do not offer initial assessments via telehealth under any circumstances.

If you are a current client who is facing exceptional circumstances and would like to request your upcoming appointment be via telehealth, please review our telehealth policy before sending us a telehealth request here.

Anything you say to a medical or health practitioner is confidential, and there are strict penalties for practitioners found to have breached this duty. 

However, this confidentiality is not absolute, and there are a number of specific situations in which confidentiality can be breached by the psychologist. These include:

  • Immediate threat of harm to self or others.
  • Court Subpoena
  • Insurance companies can request information regarding your treatment, this information will only be provided with your written consent.
  • Supervision / Second opinion – Under national law, registered psychologists are required to seek supervision from a colleague approximately once a month to discuss their practice. It is possible that some aspects of your treatment will be discussed with another psychologist.
